Plywood Plank Flooring: Our DIY Project

Updated for 2026: several years and multiple rooms later, we still love how these plywood plank floors turned out.

The DIY plywood plank floors project was the biggest and most unique project we’ve taken on so far.

We loved the uniquness of this project, and that no matter what you do to it, you can’t get it wrong – it all just adds character.

This flooring is from top to bottom custom. You get to decide every aspect of the wide plank flooring and can tweak any part of the project to make it your own.

Everything – from the board width, what color you use, the texture you apply, and the finish you choose can all be changed.

Then you can do really unique things to the flooring like the end grain flooring inlay that we added.

And the best part is no matter what you choose – It’ll look great!
